DMV- RST-3rd Party Riding Testing
DMV 3rd Party Motorcycle Skills Testing
Overview: Is the DMV 3rd-party test best for you?
-
Our DMV 3rd-Party Motorcycle Skills Test is designed for confident, experienced riders who already know how to safely and adequately ride on roadways and simply need to complete the skills test to obtain their Colorado motorcycle endorsement.
This option is ideal if you:
-
Have a valid Colorado motorcycle permit
-
Own a registered and insured motorcycle
-
Own a 3/4 DOT motorcycle helmet
-
Already ride on the roadway safely and confidently
-
Have already taken professional motorcycle training

WHY WE DO NOT RECOMMEND ONLY DOING THE 3RD PARTY TEST:
-
Our BRC2 endorsement class saves you money in the long run: Taking our BRC2 class—our intermediate one-day class geared for riders with experience who want to get a motorcycle endorsement—can save you 5–20% annually on insurance. We also offer discounts at numerous motorcycle stores and shops that can save you hundreds and potentially thousands on bikes, gear, parts, and service.
-
In the BRC2 class, you do not need to bring your own bike. You can use one of our small, easy-to-ride training motorcycles free of charge. (But you can use your own motorcycle in our BRC2 if youd like to)
-
In the BRC2 class, helmets are provided, so you can borrow a helmet free of charge.
-
You do not need a motorcycle permit to take the BRC2, which saves you a trip to the DMV.
-
The class prepares riders for the DMV riding test, giving you the chance to learn, see, and practice the best techniques to pass with confidence.
-
-
Experience does not equal skill: As motorcycle trainers, we’ve all heard riders say, “I’ve been riding for X amount of years.” Experience never automatically means you have skill. We’ve had people who have been riding for over a decade, yet they do not ride as smoothly, confidently, or safely as some of our beginner students who took our BRC1 as complete beginners.
-
BRC2 teaches additional skills and techniques: The BRC2 class covers riding techniques and safety skills not included in the 3rd-party test.
-
BRC2 provides critical knowledge for safe riding: You will learn why and how situations occur on the road, helping you navigate safely and confidently.
-
BRC2 builds skill through intentional practice: Practical training is what makes riders more skilled, confident, and safe.
-
BRC2 offers priceless tools and techniques: Motorcycle training is optional, but skipping it means missing priceless knowledge, tools, and techniques that help you ride smarter, safer, and enjoy motorcycling even more, as well as save money on insurance, bikes, gear, parts, and service.
